DESIGN FOCUS: WAYFINDING
I re-designed the wayfinding system for Beavertail State Park located in Jamestown Rhode Island. The system consists of a new logo, individual & group signage consisting of all different activities and places found throughout the park, a banner, and a directory/history kiosk.
DESIGN OVERVIEW
The task at hand for this project was to conceptualize, design and prototype an
informational kiosk for an exhibit or park/city wayfinding. I chose Beavertail State Park because as a Rhode Islander, I recognized the park’s beauty and diverse components. Addressing the lack of wayfinding, my aim was to showcase the park’s hidden gems through a simple and effective kiosk design.
DESIGN OUTCOME
Upon the completion of this project, I successfully broadened my knowledge in
wayfinding and revamped an existing system. I chose a nature-inspired color palette to complement Beavertail State Park’s natural surroundings, aiming to highlight its environmental beauty.
